VICTORIA – British Columbia’s next generation of construction industry leaders are going directly to the source of the province’s most critical decisions on March 31.
The Vancouver Regional ion Association (VRCA) is hosting its first-ever Young ion Leaders (YCL) Day at the Legislature.
The association makes it clear this is not a tour. It is action.
Emerging leaders from across the Lower Mainland will meet face-to-face with Members of the Legislative Assembly, ministers and senior staff to talk about what is happening on jobsites right now and what needs to happen next.
Housing, infrastructure, workforce pressures and procurement are just some of the topics that will be discussed.
“This is exactly where our industry needs to be,” said Jeannine Martin, president of VRCA, in a statement. “We talk a lot about building tomorrow’s communities. This is what that looks like. It is the next generation stepping forward, engaging directly with government, and helping shape the decisions that will define our industry for years to come.”
The VRCA | YCL Day at the Legislature builds on VRCA’s growing advocacy efforts across municipal, provincial and federal levels.
“Advocacy is not just about showing up. It is about who shows up,” added Craig Larkins, VRCA’s director of advocacy and engagement. “Bringing young leaders into these conversations strengthens our industry and ensures government is hearing from the people who are actually building in real time.”
