GRAHAM — Graham ion is leading the redevelopment and expansion of Belmont House, a senior care residence in midtown Toronto. The project involves a new 11-storey building.

According to a release, the project involves a new 11-storey building that will expand Belmont House’s capacity from 140 to 308 long-term care beds and 32 new assisted living beds alongside the current 82 apartments.

The new building is being constructed on a 14,245 m² lot and incorporates a combination of one-, five- and seven-storey volumes, surface parking and landscaped courtyards.

Graham’s scope includes full structural construction, building envelope, interior fit-out, systems integration and associated site works, the release adds.

The redevelopment is designed around eight resident home areas, each serving 21 residents in smaller, more familiar living environments with direct access to dining rooms, activity spaces, lounges and bedrooms. Amenities will also include a resident lounge, café, tuck shop and renovated auditorium. Two upper floors will provide retirement living suites.

Throughout construction, the existing Belmont House facility will remain operational.

The first residents are expected to move in by fall 2028.
