BRANTFORD, ONT. — , a manufacturer of metal packaging solutions, is making an $85 million investment in Ontario by establishing a new facility that will produce cans for food packaging.
According to a release, the company’s investment will sustain 228 existing jobs and create 50 new manufacturing jobs, while bringing new production lines back to Ontario “that will reshore critical supply chains and remove reliance on imported steel packaging, marking an important milestone for the Canadian food industry to bolster its self-reliance in the face of global uncertainty.”
The company will expand their operations to include coil cutting and three-piece can production lines. In support of this investment, Ontario is providing $5 million in funding through the .
“This project is a testament to our belief in Canadian manufacturing,” said Garnet Lasby, president at Massilly North America, in a statement. “By combining Canadian steel with our technical expertise, we are creating a ‘Made in Canada’ solution that benefits the environment, the economy and the consumer.”
